Rocflu documentation
- Getting Started
Rocflu is a finite volume solver that resolves shock fronts on both structured and unstructured grids. Lagrangian point-particles can be placed in the Eulerian fluid field and tracked via capabilities brought over from ppiclF and locally developed.
- Running a Simulation
./rocflu.sh runchecks a case, builds the code for it, pre-processes it and submits the job;./rocflu.sh postconverts the results for ParaView. How the code is built is in Getting Started, the input file andpoints.datin Input File. - Input File
A Rocflu case is described by
<case>.inp(this page),<case>.bc(Boundary Conditions), the grid (<case>.hyb.asc) and, with particles,points.dat. Before a run,./rocflu.sh validatechecks the input file, the.bcfile andpoints.dat;./rocflu.sh rundoes this first and stops before building anything if it finds a problem. - Boundary Conditions
Each grid patch gets its boundary condition from one section of
<case>.bc, in the case directory next to<case>.inp../rocflu.sh validatechecks the file against the rules on this page. - Recent Improvements and Fixes
This page lists recent improvements and fixes to the particle–gas coupling: interpolating the gas to the particles, projecting the particles back onto the mesh, the drag and heat closures, particle collisions with each other and with walls, memory, and conservation across MPI ranks and periodic boundaries. For each: what was wrong, how it was fixed, and how the fix was checked.
- Regression Tests
Small cases (a few hundred cells, 1–40 particles) that run in seconds each. Every case is compared against a stored golden, and most cases also have physics checks that judge whether the result is correct, not just unchanged.
